Relax, unwind and enjoy a luxury break away in very comfortable accommodation, furnished to a high standard.

We are situated in the country village of Wormhill, Derbyshire, deep in the heart of the Peak District National Park. There are a number of working farms in the village, so plenty of animals and farmland surrounding us.

The Folly is a sympathetically converted barn, attached to the main farmhouse, which has been furnished to a high standard. It is the perfect base from which to explore the stunning Peak District, with walks and rides from the doorstep.

Sorry – no children, infants or pets accepted in the Folly.

In and Around Wormhill

For outdoor enthusiasts, there are a network of footpaths and bridleways close by. We are very close to the Pennine Bridleway, Monsal Trail and Limestone Way  – with extensive footpaths and mountain bike routes to suit all capabilities.

  • Distances to major cities are: Sheffield 22 miles, Manchester 29 miles, Derby 38 miles, Nottingham 45 miles, Leeds 56 miles. Buxton has a railway station with trains available to the above cities.

Shops, Food & Drink

  • Beltonville is a farm shop located between Millers Dale and Tideswell just under 2 miles from us and stock raw milk, cheese, fruit and veg and a variety of other item.
  • Litton Village Shop is a well-stocked, friendly, village shop located in Litton (also serves tea, coffee, cakes etc)
  • A Co-op, greengrocers, bakery, chemist and a few other local shops and cafes are located in Tideswell.
  • Buxton has Morrisons, Waitrose and some other well-known department stores, along with several independent retailers.
  • The nearest pubs to here are the Anglers Rest at Millers Dale – which is walkable but note it is uphill coming back!
  • The Red Lion at Litton Both serve food and drinks.
  • Other local pubs and cafes, together with a restaurant, are located in Tideswell.

Things To Do

There’s so much to see and do in the Peak District and we have just attached a few links below for you to find further info and give a quick idea. Please note it is not a definitive, comprehensive or complete list!

  • Chatsworth House (approx. 15 mins drive) a large historic house on a far reaching estate and there is lots to see and do here. This is one of my favourite places to walk the dogs on go on a blow out horse ride!
  • Haddon Hall –  located in Bakewell (approx. 15/20 mins drive).
  • Eyam Hall – located in Eyam (approx 15 mins drive)
  • Tissington Hall – located in Tissington (approx. 30 mins drive)
  • Nearby cities: Sheffield is also only a 40 minute car journey away and Manchester is about an 1hr away by car. You can get to Manchester directly by Train from Buxton. So lots more options depending on how far you want to travel whilst you are here.
